The Departed (2006)

Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson), introduces the film in the opening scene above. He is a big time criminal at the center of an elaborate police scheme involving Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio), who goes undercover into the Irish crime syndicate to help build a case against Costello for Dignam (Mark Wahlberg). In timely style, the struggle of Costigan is knitted closely with that of another 'rat', Sullivan (Matt Damon). He is highly trusted working for the law, but is constructing Costello's escape routes from Costigan's traps. Secrecy stops them from knowing each other, whilst one finding out would end the other's life. Great track on opening scene: Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter.
